A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned as follows: Gules (Crimson), on a five-tongued flame issuing from base Proper a fleur-de-lis of the field; and attached below the shield a Gold scroll inscribed "STEADFAST WITH SUPPORT" in Crimson letters.
The colors crimson and yellow (gold) are for the Ordnance Corps. The five-tongued flame represents the unit's battle honors awarded for service in France and Central Europe during World War II, the location of which is denoted by the fleur-de-lis.
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 20 September 1956. It was amended to update the description on 29 July 1986.
